Personal News & Champagne Spots
No review this week. Sorry! But something to celebrate in my world.
For the first time since I launched Professional Lunch in March of last year, I don’t have a review to offer you this week. I’m genuinely sorry about that, and I promise that normal service will resume next week with a Chat Over Lunch featuring restaurant critic Jimi Famurewa.
I do have a good reason: This week, my own professional life has interfered with my professional lunching.
My post about the news is here and the full update is here, plus a couple of nice pieces of coverage here and here.
Needless to say, it’s an exciting moment for me. I’m thrilled about what the future holds at FH, and incredibly enthused about working with such a wonderful group of colleagues in London and around the world.
So, with that in mind and in lieu of a review, I thought I would offer some of my favourite places in London for a champagne celebration.
Best Spots for a Champagne Celebration
Duke’s Hotel Bar. Okay, it’s famous for martinis. But Duke’s is the best bar anywhere, and if you want to celebrate, Alessandro and his team will ensure it’s memorable.
Searcy’s at the Gerkin. Used to be building tenants only. These days anyone can book. Strong champagne selection and unbeatable 360° view.
Champagne Bar at Claridge’s. Celebrate in style and rub elbows with people even happier than you in one of London’s best bars.
Cocktail Bar at the Goring. Comfortable spot with excellent selection of fizz. The perfect place to ease into your celebration.
The Bar at Brooklands. Gaze over Green Park and the Palace as you sip your champagne.
Thanks for reading. Sorry again for not getting a review done this week. But please do add your favourite spots for champagne in the Comments. And normal service will resume next week.
I don't know how this passed me by, but a belated congratulations!
Wow, I can’t believe I missed this! Huge congratulations to you and well done. I hope you find this just as rewarding as the lunching! Cheers 🥂
